UFC FIGHT NIGHT: HOLLOWAY vs. KATTAR

Etihad Arena's opening night was on January 16, 2021 with UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. Kattar. A limited number of lucky fans were allowed inside the Arena, marking the first time since UFC 248 on March 7, 2020 that non-essential event personnel were in attendance at a UFC Fight Night. A featherweight bout between former UFC Featherweight Champion and most decorated 145-pound fighter of all time Max Holloway and Calvin Kattar served as the event headliner.

Holloway dominated Kattar via unanimous decision (50-43, 50-43, 50-42), and broke a new record: according to UFC Stats, Holloway landed a UFC-record 445 significant strikes, shattering the previous mark of 290 he set against Ortega at UFC 231.
